Bishop Lavis Urban Node Upgrading
About the project:
Run by the Urban Planning and Design Department with a duration of two and a half years, the primary study objective of the Bishop Lavis Urban Node Upgrading Project is to regularise the existing land use patterns within the focus area (Bishop Lavis). In doing so, currently poorly structured and/or underutilised publically owned land and facilities may be put to productive purpose in the interest of the broader public and local community.

Athlone Power Station Re-development
About the project:
The Athlone Power Station Re-development Project is a three year regional project with positive benefits for the entire City. With a budget of R1, 283,351, the city is planning for the re-development of the Athlone Power Station.The project is run by The City's
Urban Planning and Design Department in partnership with, Property Management,
Urban Mobility Department,
Environmental Management, Electricity Services and Utility Services.

Project objectives:
The project will result in a site that has a development plan, business plan and has been through the statutory processes that will allow development to commence.
This project encourages public input through a public engagement process. The first public engagement is expected to be around the middle of 2016.
